Nestled in Casole d'Elsa, one of the most beautiful and well preserved hilltop villages in Tuscany, La Rondine is an elegant yet comfortable Tuscan get-away. The apartment is recently renovated and decorated, and contains two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with two singles; completely equipped large eat-in kitchen, lovely living room with sofa-bed (double) and a spacious bath. There is a large private garden with an olive and fruit trees off the kitchen with brick patio and outdoor dining area that overlooks the rear façade of the 11th Century church.
Perhaps the best thing about this apartment is its perfect location adjacent to the village wall, with all the conveniences of vibrant village life yet with complete privacy. Cook at home or wander up to one of the excellent al fresco restaurants; join students from the international village art school for a cocktail at the bar overlooking the piazza; take part in the nightly cultural activities from spring through autumn. Sunbathe or search the internet in the garden or take a five minute stroll to the delightful community swimming pool. The village has three grocery stores, several family bars and restaurants, and several walkways designed for strolling and enjoying the beautiful Tuscan scenery including a delightful path along the town's ancient wall.
The village is ten minutes from the main Siena-Florence highway, close to picturesque San Gimignano, Siena, Florence, Voltera, and Chianti; the famous wine making areas of Montalcino and Montepulciano, and Pienza and Cortona, are approximately one hour by car making La Rondine an excellent location from which to make day trips.
Before you arrive we will send you the 'Apartment Book" that has directions, descriptions of all the best nearby restaurants (which are some of the best in the world!), wineries, things to do, day trips, etc. Our very nice English-speaking apartment manager will meet you with the key and show you araound. He is also available for questions or assistance during your stay.
